The name Speights has been successful relaunched in its former home in Mirfield.
Now called Speights Lighting & Home, the business re-opened in late October 2009 after a major refurbishment of its original premises in Huddersfield Road.
The new showroom, on two floors, contains a vast selection of lighting for all rooms in the house and benefits from the addition of home furnishing items.
Amanda Speight, who is a member of the original Speight family, is now running the business for the new owners.
As well as lighting, Speights now offers a great range of furniture, wall art, vases, mirrors, clocks, soft furnishings, gift ware and a fabulous choice of cook ware from the new kitchen shop.
The range of both lighting and furnishings offers both traditional and contemporary choices with something for all tastes, home styles and budgets.
Amanda believes the secret of continued success is the Speight's unique personal customer service. Particularly popular is the offer of home visits, consultations and an installation service to ensure customers have the right lighting/furnishing for each area of the home.
People are delighted to see us back in our original home in Mirfield. The only difference is now that Speights really has moved into the 21st Century and is catering for all tastes with some really innovative and clever lighting options.
Many people in Mirfield didn't realise we had been shut – but Speights Lighting & Home is now back in its rightful home, bigger and better than ever before. All lighting is design led and many of our products are unique to us and can't be found in other stores. The showroom has fabulous designs from around the world.
The Speights building in Huddersfield Road was closed for about six months to allow the massive refurbishment to be completed. As a local landmark, the town is delighted to welcome the highly regarded lighting specialist back.

Speights Lighting & Home is open seven days a week with a late night on Thursday until 7pm and Sunday opening 11am to 4pm. Ample car parking is available.
